Having activity in the video (the drawing/writing) is also a plus as it keeps the person watching alert to what is said while focusing on the main points.
Taking in account that the person watching is probably an adult is a good point with your point of view selected as "the parents" instead of the children's, but they are still not taken in account in the decisions as they have supposedly no right to go against you in any way?
